The B5 was originally designed to fit in the narrow Lotus Elise/Exige, however this seat can be used in a wide variety of vehicles because of its compact exterior dimensions. Although the seat is small it can fit a surprisingly large range of driver sizes and the seat has been designed to be compatible with the Hans device.
The new 2016 B5 is over 2 kg lighter than the 2015 model. The uncovered GRP or carbon/GRP version of the seat is now 4.2 kg and with the Dinamica suede covered pads it is is 5.2 kg. This is the first car seat made with a new way of manufacturing composites which creates a very strong and light moulding. At the same time the shape has been re profiled help larger drivers sit more comfortably.
The B5 sits the driver very low in the car which reduces the likelihood of hitting the crash helmet on the roll cage. The seat angle is a regular saloon car angle and the side profile, developed from many years of manufacturing kart seats, gives excellent support and leaves the shoulders free to help steer the car unhindered. The seat is also very rigid which adds to the handling feedback and feeling of security.
The side mounted B5 has four types of Elise brackets available and two generic brackets for a flat floor.
The optional dinamica suede trim panels can be special ordered with customer designed embroidered logo on the headrest and/or coloured stitching and piping and/or coloured diamond stitching and/or customised design. for more info please contact us on info@fvhmotors.be
Please note that the 2016 model Carbon/GRP B5 has a carbon front surface and black GRP rear surface. This is different to the previous carbon GRP model.
